New Zealand, that great little nation in the southern corner of Oceania, has a Food Truck with its own TV series. The owner's attempts to sell really healthy food had some success.

Numerous towns in New Zealand have their own franchised Streetwise Coffee carts, a fairly recent development, and ice creams from "Mr. Whippy" have been a feature since 1964. General food trucks tend to be individual enterprises. The colloquial name for them is "pie cart".

Occasional or temporary food sellers have to be licensed under the Food Hygiene Regulations 1974, and there is an Australia New Zealand Food Standard Code.
